Dear Zindagi storyline implies on two words " Love Yourself " . The story is quite interesting & easily take from what could happen in an upper middle class teenage girl's life.

Kaira (Alia Bhatt) is a photographer and a budding cinematographer who is in search of a perfect life. Is there really such a thing? Somewhat depressed with the way things are, Kaira meets Jahangir Khan a.k.a Jug (Shahrukh Khan) a free thinker and a kind of nomad with a philosophical bent. He helps her look at things in a different way. To steer away from set ideas and expectations and find joy in little things.
English- Vinglish fame the much talented Director Gauri Shinde is outstanding in her work. She had concentrated about even the minor details to make it happening. Being a director she has a big burden on her shoulders to make every moment lavish. The plot of the film is absorbing, you will puzzle up with a lot of unanswered questions with the end of 1st half. The starting phase is a bit slow for movie lovers but over all the movie is a joyride with subtle comedy, quick punches throughout the runtime will keep you entertained.

The cinematographer  Laxman Utekar has done brilliant job .. The whole movie is pivoted on the use of short range focus, which was pure genius. Some scenes of resembling the closeness of characters are well captured..
Amit Trivedi is always different from others. Music & background score is exquisite, " Love You Zindagi " & " Tu Hi Hai " can be classified as a masterpiece.
Overall Director Gauri Shinde gives it her signature and links it rather well with romance. Film is bit slow but well crafted with beautiful moments , love , emotions & inspiration.

Lets Talk about performance -

There could be no better option than Alia Bhatt for this character. It's one of the best movie of Alia Bhatt till now, she nails it in a few long scenes, especially the confrontational scene with the family and an emotional scene with Shahrukh Khan. She feels Kaira's pain and she is so convincing when she cries. I particularly loved how she continued looking shaken after that emotional scene. Brilliant !!

Entry of SRK brings whistles and smiles in the theatre. His character is more like an extended cameo and a narrator. He's quite careful with his life and knows to handle the most stressful situations. He's a institution of acting & day by day achieving new heights with his skills. Tremendous.

Yashaswani Dayama plays Jackie, who is Alia’s best friend and is one of the most endearing characters in the film. She brings just the right amount of fun and foil to Kaira’s character.

Ali Zafar is playing the role of a good-looking, charming musician-singer , delivered good job.  Kunal Kapoor character could be expected to be a villain of the movie although that is not truth. Energetic and Young Kunal is not much popular in Bollywood, after this  movie his role will make you appreciate the hard work he elevated in the movie .

Final Verdict -A fantastic film with Perfect representation of love, emotion, Celebrating life with sheer balance.
